The All New 2014 Kia Forte Sedan to be Unveiled At the Los Angeles Auto Show
The attractively styled and designed 2014 Forte sedan is all set for its official debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show for the U.S. and Canadian market. The new K3 saloon was initially launched in Korea in September end. Other countries like Brazil and Australia will also get the same model under the name plate Cerato from the beginning of next year. The similarities in the all-new 2014 Kia Forte when compared to other recent additions to the Kia lineup is quite palpable.
The new Forte imbibes the Kia’s aggressive character line design patterns and bolder winged grille. Besides this the lower valence shows the likeness along with the same exaggerated openings for fog lights. The differences in between the Forte, the K3 and the Cerato are exhibited in its interior, equipment packages, exterior décor, and trims apart from the available powertrains. The 2014 Forte will be longer, lower and wider compared to the outgoing model, which means it will be endowed with more space in the interior.
The 2014 Forte will measure 179.5 inches (4,560 mm) long, it will feature a width of 70.1 inches (1,780 mm), and will be 56.5 inches (1,435 mm) tall which will make it 1.2 inches (30 mm) longer, 0.2 inches (5mm) wider and 1 inch (25mm) lower compared to the outgoing model. The wheelbase is also increased by around 2 inches (51mm) to 106.3 inches (2,700mm). A 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine is featured in the current Forte which delivers a fuel economy as high as 27/36 mpg city/highway. A drivetrain with similar specifications is expected with a feature of 148-horsepower 1.8-liter ‘Nu’ four-cylinder engine whilst overseas markets will also gain from a 126-horsepower 1.6-liter diesel.

How to check your car's engine oil
Think of motor oil as the life’s blood of your car’s engine. Checking it on a regular basis is a key part of keeping your engine running well and getting the most miles out of it. The oil lubricates the engine’s internal moving parts, keeping them from wearing too quickly. It also helps keep the engine clean, by preventing dirt buildup, and helps keep it from overheating.
Checking the oil level is a quick, easy job that we recommend you do at every other gas fill-up. All you’ll need is a rag or paper towel, and your car’s owner’s manual if you have questions.
Engine oil, check!
First, make sure the car is parked on level ground and, with most cars, the engine is cold, so you don’t burn yourself on a hot engine part. With some cars, the automaker recommends that the oil be checked after the engine has been warmed up. With the engine off, open the car’s hood and find the dipstick. Pull the dipstick out from the engine and wipe any oil off from its end. Then insert the dipstick back into its tube and push it all the way back in.
Pull it back out, and this time look at both sides of the dipstick to see where the oil is on the end. Every dipstick has some way of indicating the proper oil level, whether it be two two pinholes, the letters L and H (low and high), the words MIN and MAX, or simply an area of crosshatching. Refer to the owner’s manual, if necessary. If the top of the oil “streak” is between the two marks or within the crosshatched area, the level is fine.
But if the oil is below the minimum mark, you need to add oil.
Also, check the oil’s color. If it’s brown or black, that’s fine. But if it has a light, milky appearance, this could mean coolant is leaking into the engine. Look closely for any metal particles, too, as this could mean there is internal engine damage. If you see either of these conditions, get the car to a mechanic for further diagnosis. If you suspect a coolant leak, have the car towed.
If everything’s okay, wipe off the dipstick again and insert it back into its tube, making sure it’s fully seated. Close the hood and you’re done.

The Fastest Selling Cars In America
7. Kia Soul
Days To Turn: 14
MSRP: $14,400 - $19,900
Invoice: $14,090 - $18,985
Fuel Economy: 25 mpg City, 30 mpg Highway
It's a little funny looking, but car buyers are saying it's funny looking in a good way. The design is polarizing. One New Jersey suburban mom we talked to liked it, while her teenage daughter thought it was goofy. A suburban North Carolina mom and grandmother we talked to who bought one in the last year loves her black Soul and named it "Pearl."
Kia imports the Soul from Korea, which means that it is constrained on supply. Dealers report they often flip them within a week of arrival on the truck. It is a compelling design and attractive price from a hot brand. Kia, like Hyundai and Subaru, are brands on the rise, growing fast with consumers who previously bought Detroit products.
